The Wanga

Wangas are named after the witchdoctors who created them.

People would seek the help of their local witchdoctor (the wanga, wonga or juju) when they needed help for whatever reason. The witchdoctor would then make them a magical pouch or charm bag containing herbs, stones and even some disgusting ingredients, then coated them in oils and “spelled them up” in a fire ritual to the gods. These wanga pouches are madeup as far as possible to the exact recipe and preparation as the witchdoctors used.

Usage

The wangas work by taking them to the source of the problem.

A health wanga should be held in the hand in a quiet moment while telling it what ailment you need rid of. It should then be put away in a place of safety and kept in the dark until needed again.

A fertility wanga should be kept in the bed under a pillow. Because modern beds have headboards and spaces, it is easy for the wanga to fall down the back of the bed and land on the floor, so it is best to keep it inside the pillow slip to prevent this.

Wangas to find a partner should be taken with you when you go out to socialize.

A lose weight wanga has been adapted from black magick, as it was originally used to waste people away who did wrong to another. Revenge was justified in those days, especially when food was in short supply and somebody stole from their neighbours resulting in starvation of their children, so it was seen rational that the thief would starve instead – regardless how much he ate, and the wanga would be hidden among the possessions of the thief and work on him without his knowledge.
A lose weight wanga will not cause starvation, but will gradually downsize a person until they have lost enough weight that their body will be happy with. This wanga should be pinned high up on a kitchen curtain – the room of the food source, or pinned to clothing one dress size smaller at a time. There is no point in wearing a size sixteen and pinning the wanga to a size 10, the wanga has its own rules and works in stages.

Money wangas should be kept in a purse or bag, or in a box in the house which contains money. – Take it to the bingo with you, sit it on the lottery ticket, but this wanga only brings lucky money and will not find you a job.

Warning

Whatever wanga you have – and you can own as many as you like, should be treated with respect. Don’t play with it, or drop it. Most wangas contain ingredients which can harm children and animals, so they must be kept as far out of reach from them as possible, and in any case, the wanga is personal to you, so don’t let others touch it and taint it or it wont work.

Wangas are safe, and wont cause any harm while they are working. However there is a warning with them that should be heeded. Because the wanga is spelled up while sealed, the seal should never be broken – open the wanga and the reverse will happen. If it should break open by itself or by accident, then either return it for a replacement or bury it in the garden.

Wangas only work by intent but they do work.
